Jewelry care & cleaning
Regular jewelry care restores shine and can reveal loose stones, worn prongs and weakened closures before they become expensive losses. Cleaning methods are selected for the metal, stones and construction of each piece. No repair beyond the approved service is performed without your authorization.
- Signature clean — Material-appropriate cleaning, a light hand finish and a safety check for one piece. Ultrasonic cleaning is used only when safe. $35
- Clean & polish — Deep cleaning, professional polishing and final inspection for one piece. Tarnish, oxidation and surface wear are addressed as appropriate. $55+
- Jewelry safety check — Visual and magnified inspection of the setting, prongs, clasp and visible wear points, followed by a written service recommendation. Credited toward approved repair work of $100 or more when authorized within 14 days. $25
- Gold plating refresh — Cleaning, surface preparation, polishing and 24k gold plating for most pieces; 14k gold plating for small items. $95+
- Delicate gemstone care — Gentle hand cleaning for pearls, opals, turquoise and other pieces that should not receive standard ultrasonic treatment. $45+

Every repair begins with an in-person inspection and a written estimate. No work begins without your approval.
- Jump ring repair or replacement — Labor included; precious-metal or specialty findings may add cost. From $20.
- Clasp replacement — sterling silver — Standard clasp and installation; larger or specialty styles are quoted. $55+
- Clasp replacement — gold — Installation plus the selected finding; metal market prices affect the final cost. $75+
- Bail replacement — Standard replacement; decorative and heavy bails are quoted separately. $50+
- Earring post replacement — Replace one standard post; matching and parts may add cost. $55+
BENCH MINIMUM · $35 PER INTAKE. When several repairs are completed on the same piece, the written estimate shows one combined labor total.

Whether the starting point is a loose stone, an inherited piece or an idea, the process begins with a conversation.
- Custom jewelry consultation · 45 minutes — Discuss the design vision, wearability, material direction and budget. $75, credited toward custom work.
- Jewelry sourcing consultation · 45 minutes — Define the piece, quality priorities, budget and search scope. $95, credited toward the sourced piece.
- Heirloom redesign session · 60 minutes — Review existing pieces, stones and possible redesign or restyle directions. $125, credited toward redesign work.

These services require an in-person assessment before pricing. Width, metal, construction, stones, condition and other factors determine the final quote.
- Ring sizing and ring repair. Including sizing up or down, seam repair, ring soldering and shank restoration.
- Stone and setting work. Including stone tightening, resetting, replacement-stone sourcing, prong re-tipping and channel work.
- Pearl and bead restringing. Including knotted and unknotted strands; clasp replacement and unusual beads quoted separately.
- Gold plating — 24k gold plating, and 14k gold plating for small items. Quoted after inspection.
- Jewelry restoration. For vintage, damaged or sentimental pieces that need a documented treatment plan.
- Custom design. Sterling silver pieces start at $350. Fine jewelry starts at $950. Final pricing depends on materials, complexity and finishing.
Platinum, titanium, eternity bands, invisible or channel settings, hollow jewelry, enamel, fragile stones and heavily damaged pieces may be declined or referred to a specialist.
FROM FIRST LOOK TO FINAL INSPECTION
How it works
- Share photos for a preliminary fit check. Send clear images and a short description of the piece and the service you have in mind.
- We come to you for inspection and documentation. At your appointment, the jewelry is assessed, photographed and documented before it is taken in for service.
- Review the written estimate. You receive the proposed scope, price and expected timing. Work begins only after your approval.
- White-glove return. The approved service is completed, the piece receives a final inspection, and it is hand-delivered back to you.
Service policies
- Concierge service. All services are by appointment — we travel to you across Oakland and the East Bay. A $10 bridge toll fee applies when travel requires crossing a bridge.
- Concierge visit fee. A $35 fee per appointment covers white-glove pickup and delivery, credited in full toward approved work of $100 or more.
- Starting prices. Published prices are starting points. A firm quote follows an in-person inspection.
- Estimate validity. Written estimates are valid for 14 days.
- Rush work. When accepted, rush service adds 35% to the approved service price.
- Turnaround. Timing is confirmed per project in the written estimate. No standard turnaround is promised.
- Deposits. Deposit amount and payment timing are stated in the written estimate.
- Materials and outside work. Precious metals, gemstones, findings, shipping and specialist work are itemized separately.

Will my jewelry be safe during cleaning and repair?
Yes. I am a trained and certified jeweler with professional repair and diamond-setting experience. Every piece is inspected before work begins, delicate stones like pearls and opals are always hand-cleaned, and ultrasonic cleaning is only used when it is safe for your specific piece.
Do you work on all types of jewelry?
I work on most fine jewelry in sterling silver and gold, including gemstones and pearls. A few things are outside my scope — like chain repair — and I will always tell you upfront rather than risk your piece.
How much will my repair cost?
Starting prices are listed with each service. For a firm quote, send photos and a description through the estimate form — you will know the full cost before any work begins.
How long will the work take?
It depends on the piece and the work involved. You will get a timeline with your estimate, before anything begins.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes — and every appointment is a concierge experience. I come to you for pickup and delivery across Oakland and the East Bay, with a $10 bridge toll fee when travel requires crossing a bridge. Consultations book on weekends from 1–5 PM.
What if my piece cannot be repaired?
I will tell you honestly at inspection and walk you through the alternatives — like redesigning it into something new or sourcing a replacement.
Is the consultation fee really credited?
Yes — in full. Your consultation fee ($75–$125 depending on the session) is credited toward your project when you move forward.
